B-ko Daitokuji

B-ko is the spoiled but brilliant daughter of a successful Graviton City businessman. She is a strong willed girl who is used to getting what she wants. She has a loyal group of 'agents' (other schoolgirls) who help her to get what she wants, but when the job is too important to trust to others, B-ko is more than able to take care of herself.

B-ko uses her brilliant mind to perform feats of engineering that defy explanation. Her favorite method of enforcing her will is by using powerful, gigantic mecha. From the brilliantly complex, but difficult to pilot MAX 5000 to the ponderously gigantic quintuplet Arashiyama Five, B-ko's inventions are the envy of any engineer. However they all seem to have one flaw: A-ko.

Against anyone else these machines would be invincible, but A-ko isn't just anyone. B-ko's crowning achievement however, is a different story. When it became clear that her creations were no match for A-ko, B-ko revealed her "true powers" to face A-ko in hand-to-hand combat.

The Akagiyama 23 bio-suit has the power to match A-ko in hand to hand combat, making the user's reflexes twice as fast as A-ko's. Equipped with Akagiyama Missiles, Black Jacovini Shooting Star Lash and a jet pack for aerial assault, the suit is the ultimate in personal combat suits, despite its skimpiness.

B-ko is a deep and complex girl. She obviously has a severe case of megalomania, but her motivations and how she ended up where she is are a bit of a mystery. It seems that even at kindergarten B-ko was a bully, teasing C-ko. But that could be explained by a lack of love and attention from her father who was most likely away on frequent business trips. And since we never see a mother, B-ko could well have been raised by a nanny, or a series of them. Such an environment for a growing girl is bound to have long term effects on personality development.

Devoid of love and any real opportunity to learn social skills, it may be the case that B-ko is the victim of bad parenting. Having always gotten what she wanted, when she wanted it, it probably never occurred that she cannot just "take" C-ko. When B-ko learns that C-ko is loyal to her friend and long-time arch rival A-ko, B-ko must have been confused that someone less intelligent, less attractive and far less wealthy could be more interesting to C-ko than her.

The obvious solution then was to remove A-ko so that C-ko could see the truth of their friendship, and that B-ko would be a much better friend than A-ko.

B-ko truly does love C-ko, and wants to make her happy, but because she herself has had such a twisted childhood and has hardly known happiness, she doesn't know how to give it to C-ko. She only knows that while A-ko is there, she can never make C-ko happy.

B-ko is a tragic figure, lost, confused and afraid. She outwardly displays power, poise and strength, but looking past the surface reveals confusion and loneliness. B-ko deserves to have friends, and maybe - just maybe - through their constant rivalry, A-ko, B-ko and C-ko have become inexorably linked and could be called friends after all.
