Super parents
One of the most subtle but most talked about in jokes in Project A-ko is that of her parentage. Throughout the movie, A-ko's super strength and speed are never explained. In the final scenes, however, we get a glimpse of A-ko's parents. We see her mother folding a blue cape with a partial "S" logo, and her father reads a newspaper caled the "Daily Plenet".
Yuji Moriyama has confirmed in a couple of interviews that A-ko's parents are Superman and Wonder Woman. He said that this joke was a last minute idea, and added to the film right at the end. It was intended as an homage to western characters that the crew admired.
